Berger & Luckman's "The Social Construction of Reality."
Maybe I can offer a reasoned response to this question before I die....but right now, just pulling a figure outta my ass, I'd offer 70.
Of course, that number is existentially grounded and exceedingly static.
BTW....what year is this? How many days until November 2020?

I work in high-pressure finance, and more people die within 5 years of forced retirement than don't.

One of my bosses took a package at 55 so he could get another job. Most don't hire execs over that.

I think old age has more to do with health and physical deterioration than with years...

I am in my early 70s. I feel healthier and more fit than when I was in my 50s. Smarter, too.

My mom too! She had back problems until mid-fifties and now works part-time at 75 going strong!
