If (if!) McCabe is terminated, my guess is it will simply add even more momentum to the Blue Wave this November.

McCabe's dismissal is not be a thing that can be branded well to the independents and the apathetic voters; and despite the cloud of despair that would (temporarily) hang over Washington as a result, I honestly believe it would be a god-send in the sense that we (Dems) could hammer them (GOP candidates running on Trumps' coat-tails) over and over and over with.
