I hope this is one of the few times he does the right thing.

He would hav nothing to lose. The only reason for him to fire McCabe would be to please Trump. But he should know by now that that won’t matter because Trump will still turn on him, humiliate him and eventually fire him. He might as well try to maintain at least some shred of whatever dignity he has left
