[View all]Too many women newscasters dress like they are going to a cocktail party, showing far too much skin, while their male counterparts have on long sleeve shirts, ties, and jackets. Someone is either freezing or roasting to death.
If you are reporting the news, clothes, jewelry, makeup, etc should not be a distraction. I don't know if they are "required to dress in a semi-revealing way", aside from Fox, of course, but it is possible some feel compelled to be competitive when it comes to appearance.
Katy Tur, Hallie Jackson, Kasie Hunt, and Rachel Maddow all dress in an understated fashion, keeping the attention on the story or commentary.
