(20,234 posts)where you start equating cosmetic procedures with healthy lifestyles in the last two sentences. Lifting weights shouldn't be in the same sentence as breast augmentations or botox injections. Same with the earlier post where you seemed to be mocking vegans or people working to incorporate more vegetables into their diets.
When you lump them together, you dismiss the health benefits of weight bearing exercises - reducing heart disease, lowering the risk of osteoporosis, helping to maintain a healthy body weight which may help prevent or control diabetes, cholesterol, and high blood pressure. And the raw food vegan thing - I don't do either of those, but a couple people in my family do, and they are the only ones who have consistently stayed at a healthy weight, and they are the ones with the least impact on the environment. It seems to me we should be holding them up as role models, not mocking them as examples of people pathetically trying to "look 16."
