In reply to the discussion: Bullying does not cause school shootings - entitlement does... [View all]paleotn

Quiet, studious, picked on people of color don't appear to perp mass shootings. Nor do gay kids. Or females in general, whether bullied or not. By a huge margin, it is a white, male phenomenon. Bullying may play a role, possibly a major role, but there's far, far more to it than that. A major portion could possibly be the culturally driven expectations of white males in this society and the associated feelings of entitlement. My personal opinion is, until we drag white male culture, kicking and screaming if necessary, into the 21st century of inclusiveness, this feeling of entitlement and the negative behaviors associated with it, will continue.
