They're like the nihilis5s in The Big Lebowski- they believe in nothing. Oh sure they'll tell you that they believe in Jesus, and that they are more holy than the next guy, but when you get right down to it, they have no beliefs. No morals. No ethics. No conscious. No compassion. No shame. Nothing that makes them human. If they did, we'd be a lot better off as a society.
