Let the kittens eat as much as they want (within reason). The kittens I cared for ate two and three times as much as the instructions called for, and they all were very healthy. Two were the most mellow cats I've ever seen. The one we kept was not mellow at all (very mischievous, doesn't play well with other cats, his best friend is a shih tzu). But none of them ever put out their claws to humans...
