23. I understand your situation...mirrors my own...

My sister and I have spoken only 3 times since the election and got into an argument following our grandmother's funeral over whether or not talking politics (between my father and myself) was appropriate in ear shot of her children (because she claims all non-Fox News is slanted and anti-Trump).

She is essentially parroting the opinions of my conspiracy-theory loving, hard right-wing nut job brother-in-law, but she also allows him to tell her how she should vote and what she should say or talk about it. Nasty, nasty man and breaks my heart to see my sister and nieces and nephews being led by the nose down his path...

If my sister ever leaves him, she knows she always has my support but while she is with him and espousing his views, we have no social relationship at all and outside of mandatory family gatherings, we simply do not communicate any more...heart-breaking, but I refuse to allow anyone to normalize Trump or pretend he is OK in my presence and that is non-negotiable. Fuck that Orange shit-gibbon forever.
