Pence is awful, but Trump is a daily nightmare. First of all, I don't think Pence will last long even if he does succeed Trump. He doesn't have the cult-like following that Trump has and he's too boring to sway any of the Independents or non-voters. Not only that, but there is a good chance that Pence is as dirty as Trump and is likely to be investigated as well. I don't think he has much of a future. If he hadn't been chosen as VP, he probably would have lost his next race in solid red Indiana.

Also, he doesn't have Trump's pathological need for attention, so at least we wouldn't have to hear from him and about him all day, every day, ad nauseum. Trump is exhausting. The blandness of Pence would be a welcome relief.
