7. If Virginia can have a "Lee/Jackson" holiday, then surely a "Voting Day" is not too much to ask.

Yep, state employees get a day off each year to celebrate those glorious heroes who tried to destroy the country. I think it was done to appease all the folks who were outraged that Martin Luther King got a holiday.
