AFAIK, having never qualified but seen the forms they have. They demand bank account numbers and assets to be declared and when the income goes up again they must pay the state back.

Or if they never work again but need help, when they die, the state will take the assets. At least that's the way it used to be for people that ended up in nursing homes on Medicaid, and to be eligible for one you would be eligible for the other, I'm thinking.

Also, if he is able bodied he will have to show he is looking for work, or if he claims he is sick, he has to prove it, and then prove he is getting treatment to get better and return to work. Being poor is not a carefree vacation, nor is being on disability, etc..
