44. As a rule, presidents have not attended the funerals of former First Ladies

the exception would be Eleanor Roosevelt's funeral which President Kennedy did attend (as did Truman, Eisenhower, LBJ, and their wives). They also all attended a lunch at John Roosevelt's home. (Funny story from "The Atlantic" on the 50th anniversary of Eleanor's death. The three presidents were standing in a corner talking "shop" when James Roosevelt's wife interrupted them by saying "Mr. President, your wife would like to see you now." They had to ask "Which Mr. President?" Turned out it was Bess Truman looking for Harry.)

Bill Clinton did not attend Jackie Kennedy's funeral Mass in NYC (Hillary did) but he did meet the plane when it landed in D.C. and attended the burial at Arlington.
