When I was a teenager, a friend of mine's family went on vacation for a couple of weeks. Riding my bike past their house one day, there was a van parked outside and people moving things out of the house and into the van.
I wasn't going to ask them what they were up to, since they were four adults and I was one teenager, so I called the police.
As I found out later, they were actually some cousins of the family whom I did not know, and they had arranged to pick up some furniture that my friend's family had given them.
There was no race factor involved.
Airbnb suggests that people tell their neighbors, to avoid just this sort of thing from happening. But people running Airbnb's contrary to the rules of their condo/apartment/subdivision, don't necessarily want their neighbors to know.
