66. Pence wants to hold on to....

Trump's base. He knows he's going to need them if he wants to get anything done as (dog help us!) President. Trump will go down, one way or another, and as bad as Pence is, he'll be appointed President. With just his christian, theocratic lunatics behind him Pence gets nothing done. With Trump's cult behind him, as well as his loonies, he has a chance to turn the U.S. into a fascist/theocratic nightmare.
