I used to sell it in my youth. Every couple months my friends and I made the trek across state to Ann Arbor where we scored the best from a kid with a really weird name. Blue Owsley, Sunshine, Windowpane, and even nostalgic Sugar Cubes once, we had the real stuff in those days before weak ass blotter became the norm (it's like a "body high" ). I finally had to quit when it seemed bad things would often happen while I was peaking on a double dose. Things like arriving at a gas station shooting, a night club raid by the Feds, and even a bloody riot once. I tried it one more time later, but the fact my life was more ponderable with a wife & children convinced me my astral elevations were a thing of my carefree years past.
Having said that, I often wonder as you do if I'm losing my mind or if we're living a new normal where the Bizzaro World abuts neatly the realities I once knew. Old friends who protested along side me now cheering war, demanding the exodus of all people of color, and encouraging Right To Work laws makes me question why I haven't changed along with them. The fact that they insist I changed and not them perplexes me to no end. Maybe I did too much.
The Beatles never warned us of this future.
