(130,436 posts)181. Yup. Every time there's some kind of big public event
that gets a lot of TV coverage - the Superbowl, the Olympics, the Oscars, a celebrity wedding/birth/funeral, even the release of a new Apple product, there will be folks who harrumph and grumble about how trivial and meaningless the event is and how superficial and gullible are its watchers, and what the hell is wrong with you people for being such silly sheep for watching this garbage when there are bad things going on all over the world and yet you are watching this crap when you could be righteously complaining on the Internet about all the bad things that you forgot all about???
