a fellow co-worker at one time,his daughter was the chief of Target Product Security. Notice Target Stores do not have self Check outs.

In retail in is called Shrink,another word is theft.

Target Store data showed it was cheaper to have Cashier's first to minimize shrink, and to better make Target shopping experience better.
