They'd be screaming, "The American people deserve to know!"
First Ladies, as non-elected public figures, are not obligated to disclose their whereabouts. However, they simply do not vanish for extended periods of time without being noticed. They have direct access to the president in private. If something's going on with Melania that impacts 45's emotional instability (what doesn't?), it portends some very negative consequences.
