If an angry white dude punches out your tail light and rear window, slam on the gas pedal and head for the nearest populated area.

It is NOT her fault - but, as a rape survivor (who has been a peer counseler to 100s of rape survivors) - even though it is not your fault, you can sometimes minimize the harm if you pay attention to your gut, and use some street smarts. Not only that, but it is really empowering to feel more in control of the situation.
