In reply to the discussion: unbelievably frustrating shopping experience at Lowe's yesterday [View all]enlightenment
(8,830 posts)but have a little trouble understanding why this was "incredibly frustrating" for you.
You lit in to someone for rolling their eyes at you - told them (essentially) that they were an idiot and left them standing while you sought out and found someone more to your liking. In the end, you got what you wanted and left the store happy, presumably.
The ONLY thing the original person did was roll their eyes, correct? They didn't try to talk you out of your decision. They didn't tell you that your decision was wrong. They 'talked down' to you and then made an unspoken comment that you caught; so you ripped them a new one - and then told their manager about their poor customer service.
Seems to me that you not only got what you went shopping for, you also got the opportunity to tell someone off and, possibly, put their job (a US worker at a US job, by the way) in jeopardy, because they 'talked down' to you and rolled their eyes when you demanded something that is usually - not always, but usually - a requirement from the far-right fringe.
Sounds like you went into the store looking for a debate.
I'm glad you found a new dishwasher.
