(18,219 posts)and not treat them like they are idiots. I would have done the same thing in this situation. I absolutely would not deal with this employee, and if my finding another salesperson who would work with me puts that person in jeopardy of losing their job, it is not my fault. I have done the same thing---I will not give a commission to someone who does not do their job in a professional and at least civil manner.
She was lucky to find someone who cared about her business and what she wanted. And she was smart not to be bullied. If this causes the employee to lose their job, then that in not on her. We should be able to expect some measure of decency from people who have chosen the job of customer service. And if Made In America is important to us (and it should be to every American), then a smart salesman will work with us.
