(6,187 posts)...damned well knows how (s)he SHOULD behave, is paid to behave with a certain minimum level of civility, and CHOOSES to do otherwise.
And it seems to me, the customer started out politely enough, just with a firm idea of what she had in mind. Salesman fired the first salvo, and got a full broadside in return.
Much to my mother's embarrassment, I'm one of the first to sotto voce comment on the behaviour of obnoxious customers in stores. AND I'm also perfectly capable of dropping several hundred dollars worth of stock I'd selected for purchase in the middle of the floor and walking out, with a very loud head count of staff, if those staff seem to find their conversation to be more important that ringing those purchases up. Or if they're young, and the audience is large enough, my other trick is to put a duck face in the middle of my 14 inches of beard, come up close (without invading personal space) and squeal: "Justin! OMG! He's just so totally hot."
