7. I was an unwanted pregnancy from pre-Roe.

My mother was 25 years old, single, professional woman.

When she went to the doctor to confirm her pregnancy, he told her he could arrange for her to take a "vacation" in Japan (where abortion was legal).

She was a Bible-thumping holy roller, and stormed out of there and went to a new doctor.

When I heard the story, I felt bad for the doctor. I'm glad that he was there to give options to women who needed them. I'm just sorry my mother treated him so poorly.

I hate to think we'll be returning to those days.
