I can understand why some people call for term limits, but they underestimate the value of experience and "institutional memory". Elections were meant to weed out the corrupt and ineffective politicians. Getting money out of politics would be a better solution than term limits.

Another example of the disastrous effect of losing experienced people is the State Department, which is weakened every time a career employee leaves or is fired. FEMA, the FBI, and the CIA also rely heavily on experience that comes from years of service. Rebuilding all these institutions after Trump will be an overwhelming task.
