to stop two young punkie kids who were running their mouth. That is, assuming a conversation about lynching was exchanged between the two, loudly. Because there was going to be some kind of interaction if they did -- and they should have known that. I'm not saying it was right, just a risk that most normal, reasonable people wouldn't take.

If that is the case, the theft was an act of civil disobedience. He will pay for it, but in the long run, the two kids will have learned a lesson that might save their life because they'll know better next time.

Now, if it was just about getting offended by a MAGA hat, then no sympathy for the guy.
