Fascism is the point and we are moving closer to just one incident changing things. In 1933 through 1934 there was no internet and information was not disseminated in the flash of a keystroke. You may disagree but I think it is obvious that the election was stolen by Russia for Trump. Also 'boiling the frog' slowly is archaic.
