(14,249 posts)Who does it divide from whom? How is it counterproductive? How does anything in the OP make anyone less likely to be an ally in the fight for equality and racial justice?
White Democrats regularly say things that I find offensive, but that never negatively affects my commitment to the Democratic Party, its goals or principles. So please explain how something a stranger writes about race in anyway "divides" a true ally from others fighting for the same cause.
Or do you just not like reading anything you don't agree with about race - and only race since I don't recall seeing you trying to shut down discussions about any other topic that you don't like because you claim it's "divisive?"
It seems to me that, like some other people, you think race should be discussed only on your terms and you feel entitled to try to dictate the content, nature and tone of discussions about race and think you're in a position to tell others what they can and can't discuss based on whether it makes YOU feel uncomfortable - and anything that you don't like is somehow "divisive," that worn out catchphrase that you seem unable to define.
