(1 post)I did something similar at the Gap and other clothing places. I've been walking in asking to see everything available Made in the USA. The salesperson always gives me a shocked expression and freezes. When I'm been asked about it I explain the list of reasons, job creation, quality control for products etc.
There seems to be a big gap in knowledge for people under 35. They do not remember anything being Made in the USA nor understand why it matters. It's the 40+ group that seems to care and that makes it harder to explain since it is typical to "not listen to adults."
I don't have answers that will change the attitude of the youth other than making America "cool." If the young designers keep their products in the USA and promote that fact the association will creep back into the youth consciousnesses.
