https://money.cnn.com/2018/08/05/media/donald-trump-story-telling/index.htmlStelter: President Trump is winning the story-telling game, with help from his friends in the media
Watch enough of President Donald Trump's rallies, and his power as a storyteller shines through.
He's the hero, the savior, the dragon-slayer of his own story. The villains include Democrats, foreigners and the journalists in the back of the hall.
Love him or hate him, but give credit where it's due: Trump is succeeding at telling a story.
Trump's stories are often more fiction than fact. But the thing about a story, like a novel or a drama, is that it's not really meant to be fact-checked. The narrative is meant to make you feel.
snip - read the rest if you can stomach it.
Now my feelings on this - does this sort of weird fawning article ("power of a storyteller shines through" ) help our country in any way? Hitler's power as a storyteller certainly must have been pretty impressive to accomplish the horrors that he did.
Why not "Trump's stories nothing but lies and distortions"?
I am demoralized because it is hard to know how to even counter all of this bullshit - because facts no longer matter. Decency doesn't matter. The very media that Trump's words endangers can't help but slobber at his so-called story telling skills.

It is utterly insane, what we are witnessing. Dangerously, nauseatingly - and destructively -insane

Keep in mind that his "story" sells only to his base, that 88% of the 24% of voters

We're really just estimating, of course, but I suspect his hardcore base is closer to 30.

Yeah, just lies upon lies endlessly, yet CNN normalizes this to be "storytelling". Gag.

I've been paying attention just fine, and I've watched several of his rallies.

It isn't working because they're straight up ... NOT ... being told the truth. The look at FAUX News

Stories are always what mattered, not facts. Facts are forgettable, stories are not.

Demoralization cannot come from what CNN's home page looks like for an hour or two.
