As we beat this dead horse, perhaps the sentence should read "Republicans want an evangelical Christian in the White House..."

The issue is not whether Mormonism is a Christian faith, but that evangelical and other Christian faiths denounce it as a cult.

And that, my friends, is why Iraq, Afghanistan, and every other country that is ruled by religious sects is constantly engaged in civil war.
