(25,415 posts)Some of it is bought on the open market. Gas from Russia that is bought to use in the United States may actually have been bought by Russia from Saudia Arabia. Hess and Citgo seem to use little to no gas from the middle east because they have no operations there. However, if they have a bigger demand and then need to purchase crude oil from another source and then resell it here it can be hard to tell where it originated from. And some stations have no refinery themselves and simply buy the oil from the middle east. It's a stupid and pointless argument because Saudia Arabia is not one company that you can boycott. We don't know where each gas company gets all their oil from because so much of it is mixed from all different sources. But Repubs are not that bright to understand that.
