Teddy Roosevelt, Eisenhower and Ford were more the exception. For the most part the GOP has been anti worker, and anti environment. It is truly ironic that Democrats were pro slave in their past. And it is ironic that the Dixiecrats got Medicare passed.
Even Nixon did some exceptional thing.

The GOP really turned sour with the advent of Reagan.
