i'm sorry his single favorite book last year isn't on this list also because it's wonderful and a fantastic antidote to trumpism and the relentless darkness in the news: Steven Pinker's: Enlightenment Now: The Case for Reason.

If you don't know why you're a Democrat or what a liberal is, much less feel proud and glad, or what our liberal constitution's relationship with humanism, reason, science and progress is, read this. If you want to feel hope and know that every intelligent, knowledgeable person should be hopeful, read this. It's very enjoyable.
