11. Plus, not all goats auctioned end up as meat.

They might at this auctioneer, but we had a prime friendly nanny with a female kid getting close to old enough to look at breeding, and after they had cleared all the poison ivy from the property and passed on a low enough dose to desensitize us who drank the milk to the dreaded ivy... we ended up having to auction them locally.

They were both extremely friendly, and as a result the top bidder ran a dairy herd. They ended up getting the highest prices that day, too, because we'd taken good care of them and they were in both excellent health and temper.

Hopefully the meat billies did make a good run for it, though..
