11. I was honestly expecting more mistrials, maybe all 18 counts

The jury’s questions from last week indicated that they were confused as to which evidence matched which crime.

I’d assume that, if that assumption was correct, it would make a re-trial easier. Fewer charges and less evidence theoretically indicates an clearer case for the jury. As it was, at least some of the jurors voted guilty. If I had to bet, I’d say the holdouts were the same jurors confused by “reasonable doubt.”
