Believing in Jesus as Christ makes you a follower of Jesus not a "Christian".

Before the Nicene conference there were Gnostic and Trinity Christians, afterwards a strict Trinity definition of Christianity was enforced and they became the Catholic, Protestant and AnaBaptist traditions.

Mormonism is basically a form Gnostic Christianity and as the Mormon up thread clearly states has a completely different systematic theology and a different Christology from the rest of the Church.

To call them all Christians is to eliminate the meaning of words. Muslims also believe that Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary, was a Prohpet and the Son of God. Does that also make them Christians?
