Democrats should impeach tRump as soon as they take power with a majority in the House and there seems enough R support in the Senate to convict.

The only alternative I see is tricky but might work: Impeach him as soon as Democrats take power in the House, regardless of the state of the Senate. This forces Republicons onto the record. It is probably best to attempt if there is a reasonable chance that not too long after enough R Senator would defect to convict.

Americans do not have much stomach for repeated impeachment attempts; understandably so.

Tough calculations.
