I feel sorry that the glitter-bomber felt like he was compelled to do what he did, too. But if Santorum wasn't such a self-righteous bigot, it wouldn't have been necessary at all. As it is, Santorum just suffered some public embarrassment, as opposed to having his very existence questioned by a large, vocal segment of society bent on carrying out his annihilation.
