I am perplexed by the juxtaposition of his close friendship with McCain and his shift to lap dog for The Asset.

Maybe he’s Kompromat, or maybe he’s doing a ‘keep your enemies closer’ - trying to difuse a possible immediate firing of Sessions and buying time for Rosenstein and Mueller to finish.

It’s a possibility.
