Jup, Norwegian by birth and by living (and in fact, my family have more or less being living on the same place since they came here to take over a farm in the mid 1300s.. Right as the plague (Black Death) was making its way over the country - but the family somehow managed to survive, up to our own time
so more or less 600 year of living at the same place..
I think your current president is a great president - hated by the extreme right (but that goes with the territory I guess) and at least respected by the rest - and loved by many.. And even though I believe the US president have to be secure in office, the current President have been more open to everyone, specially the kids than I believe most US presidents have been.. John Beidens playing with the kids a couple of weeks ago was really a classy act.. He IS the Vice President of the United States - but not bigger than he could play around with kids - and get soaked by water as the kids play with him... And it also looks like he had a great time, playing with the kids - and getting wet to the bones... And your current President and first lady - WOW what a classy par... If I have to say it, Michelle Obama looks stunning in her dresses - and it also looks like the two are in deep love with each other when they are working together.. I just wish more americans could se they as they really are, not just as black persons, who for the moment occupy the White House...
One of my favs of all time, have been history. Not just our own history, but history in general.. And it maybe help when you are living in a small country like our own, to learn history - I might also be that lucky that I was living in a house where books was common and where it was a lot of history books... And I also was a happy reader too boot.. So it was just easy to learn about history, as the books was there... I was kind of a lonely boy when growing up, so books was one of the "best" friends I had.. So I guess most of it, comes from the fact that I learned to read fast, and to remember what I was reading... And had a keen interest for history to..
