When considering what laws should be passed---when considering "what's fair" and what our rights and responsibilities to each other OUGHT to be---assume that you are about to be born into the world you would govern. But, you have no idea if you will be born black, white, brown or another hue; you do not know if you will be born healthy and strong or weak and ill; whether you will be born rich or poor, intelligent or mentally challenged, male, female or other.

From behind this veil of ignorance, decide what is fair and just and what you will encounter in the world you are about to enter.
