But instead of confronting the things we should be fearing, namely climate change, the ever shrinking middle class and as well as the growing U.S. irrelevance on the world stage, the Republicans look inward and find a domestic enemy to fear. This tactic is working, however. This fear of the other and the resulting scapegoatism will be America's undoing. Correction, it is America's undoing. A house divided against itself can not and will not stand. Gillum will have a might tall order resisting the dog whistles of the right, staying on focus and getting Floridans to see beyond fear and unite behind hope.
