(12,003 posts)Great post! The Democratic party is like a group of cats, completely unable to control. Some are going to say/do things we disagree with. Some are going to say/do things we completely agree with. This includes our independent allies that caucus with the party. Especially the ones who have leadership positions within our party. If our party gave these people leadership positions, I will support the Dems by supporting their decision and supporting their choice. It's time to put the primaries behind us. If you disagree with a statement or action? Cool. But if you're slinging mud at Democratic party leadership and anyone associated with them, it's time to put that shit away. If you hear, "he/she's not a Democrat" coming out of your mouth and the person holds a leadership position within our party or is the Democrat on the DEMOCRATIC TICKET, you aren't supporting our party.
Furthermore, for my fellow Bernie supporters. Trying to rub the win of a Bernie backed candidate in the faces of our Democratic party allies isn't doing us any good either. As good as it admittedly feels (and I've been guilty too....), it ain't helping the big pic, dig? Put a sock in it. We all need to put this crap in check (again, myself included. I'm not an innocent babe in the woods. Although, I must admit, if ya seen my pics, I am quite the babe....:laughing
We are the only thing standing in the way of Fascism. Period.
In short, I guess what I'm trying to say is we need to put our differences aside. Yes, Bernie says shit some here don't like. But he does hold a leadership position in our party and he votes with the party more than some "official democrats". And yes, some Democratic leaders make decisions that we may not agree with, or seem "to old" to represent a changing demographic. But regardless, ya wanna vote for Bernie Sanders or Mitch McConnell? Nancy Pelosi or Devin fucking Nunes. If you picked the latter in either case, you aren't supporting our party.
