I have a fun game I play with devout conservatives. In the midst of a discussion about such things as welfare or health care I ask them what they think the percentage of black people in America is.

They consistantly go for 30% or more. I even had one guess it to be "about 50%", which led me to follow up to ask why she thought we call them minorities.

The real figure is just over 12% which shows just how much right wingers inflate the "problem" through fear. Most of that percentage is concentrated in the deep south BTW, so it's entertaining to witness their disbelief that African Americans are poorly represented to "take over their country", steal their job, or take away their rights.

After learning this they invariable switch to Hispanics and point out how there are sooo many more of them and "we'll be the minority in a couple years". I'm always ready to explain that black people represent the country's largest minority.

Try it sometime, I promise you'll have fun with it.
