At this point, many people understand that he lies all the time, and even the Deplorables know that he lies sometimes. So for the Deplorables, they simply figure that he was lying back in 2016 when talking about Cruz. Or that he changed his mind. Or that he is simply adapting to a changing environment - he's not campaigning against Cruz now, you know.

The Deplorables simply don't care what Hair Furor said about Cruz back in 2016.
