spending your money on products produced by companies that support acts of peaceful protest like kneeling during the National Anthem will further the cause by making other companies follow suit as long as consumers support the brand. A corporation's only obligation is to their share holders. If they can make money off promoting ethical/moral behavior, they will. If their model proves to be profitable, other companies will follow.
