2. This "hearing" will produce the second Trump-appointed justice.

The first, as we know, was the SCOTUS seat stolen from President Obama by Mitch McConnell, who has said his unconstitutional action was "The proudest accomplishment of my career."

The second is in progress as the Senate Republicans blatantly shove Trump's flawed nominee -- who allegedly lied during his confirmation hearing for his present position on the Court of Appeals -- through what is supposed to be a transparent and well-considered process. The current occupant of the WH is refusing to release 100,000 relevant documents, claiming "executive privilege," when such a claim can only be made by Dubya since Kavanaugh worked for him. And 43 has said the documents can be released. I never thought I'd say it, but right now I admire Bush for understanding the process is more important than the result. Of course, he also might be trolling Donnie Two Scoops, for whom his family has a long established disdain.

BTW, when did the Dems give up the right to the filibuster, and requiring a 60 vote supermajority to confirm a SCOTUS justice? What did they get in return?
