The biggest voting blocks of Dems still are boomers and genXers and many of them grew up with communists/socialists as just that, bogeymen, and don't even perceive the many positive aspects of socialism in our daily lives.

IMO it's smart for AOC to just call herself a Democrat or progressive Democrat so as not to give the repugs negative ammo to use against her.

Think about it, why else would she stop using the Democratic Socialist label?
