It was a very charged atmosphere in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein revelations. It was almost as if no one wanted to be caught on the wrong side.

Let me be clear, I am still very torn about Franken. I don't know for sure if he is a groper who mistreated and disrespected these women. He could very well be a major creeper. What I am saying is that our democracy is very much rooted in due process. That no man is convicted of a crime or punished without having the opportunity to speak and defend himself. Sen. Gillibrand created a feeding frenzy that did not give Franken the opportunity to defend himself. He could have tried, but everyone turned on him. It was in my opinion very unfair. In a way it was frightening.
